1. I'm Published! →

One of the last projects I worked on before I returned to Norway was for a photo-shoot for Wine Country Wedding magazine. I had been working with Off The Beaten Path Weddings during the past couple months and was excited when they asked me to help them with the photo shoot. My favorite part of the project was the cake. I think the leafy “head-pieces” are super cute wrapped around the tiers. We decided to keep them simple, but you could easily make similar ones with flowers. I also love the Japanese Maple leaves in the bridal bouquet and table arrangement. Read the article here.

  2. Just finished these bouquets for a wedding this weekend. Love the purple.

  3. I’m finally uploading some photos from my wedding last year. I normally get so nervous doing flowers for weddings, but this time I was totally relaxed — I only had to worry about pleasing myself.

My parent’s neighbor owns a wedding planning business and was incredibly generous and provided us with props and other decorating items. You can check out her site here. She also just started a new venture called Bridechilla

Photos were taken by my friends Dan and Bethany. You can check them out here. They are amazing photographers living in Boston, and I was incredibly lucky to have them for my wedding. You can see the rest of our wedding photos here.

  4. I decided that instead of printing and mailing our Save The Dates, I would just save some time and money and email them. I had originally intended to screen-print our Save the Dates on kraft paper. Since I’m still planning on doing that with our invites, I scanned in a sheet of the kraft paper I’m going to use for the background. I think it worked out well!

  5. Repurposed Lighting

One thing Eirik loves is candles. Lots of them. I’ve always thought hanging mason jars with a votive inside were really pretty. At work we sell honey which we sample out. The jars are perfect, so I asked all my co-workers to save the honey jars for me when they open a new sample. One of my co-workers, Sandy, told me that she was good at wire wrapping and offered to make the jars hang-able for me. I accepted her offer and then forgot about it until she came to work with this:

Isn’t it beautiful? Beyond my expectations. Sandy is one talented woman. At first I was just going to have them hanging here and there, but this is too beautiful. I’ve decided to make a chandelier out of them. We’ll see how that works out.
